Brian Newman Cooper Stockport/Cheshire doğumludur. Tarih öğretmenliğinden 1979 yılında emekli olan Cooper halen Mansfield/ Nottinghamshire'da yaşamaktadır. Birisi emekli, iki şef inspector ‘Lubbock and Tench’ serisi ile ün yapmıştır.
